Nancy is a self-taught artist inspired by nature's beauty. Influenced by the beauty of the natural wonders on the coast, she enjoys creating scenes and painting the wildlife that surrounds her. Since childhood she has loved birds and water and this is reflected in her art.
A few years ago, Nancy found gourds and was intrigued with the creative possibilities and variety of techniques that could be used to turn a gourd into a work of art. Along the way her work expanded to include wood and salvaged materials on which to express herself. With limitless possibilities of materials, mediums, imagination, and expression, she creates one- of-a-kind decorative and functional pieces of art.

My desire to be an artist began when I was in my late forties. I learned the basics about acrylic painting from a talented artist and teacher, Jeanne Crider of WA. state. She also introduced me to watercolors and how to sculpt with clay. T
Throughout the years, many teachers and workshop leaders have fueled my curiosity and helped me to develop my technique. I have also dabbled with mosaics; fiber arts; graphic arts; and Zentangle art.
Currently, I love to experiment and play with paints, paper, inks, texture mediums, and anything not nailed to the floor. My desire is to keep growing, learning, and creating unique mixed media and abstract art.
